Wolf Moon (working title)

I decided that I would do a journal quilt set this year based on the full moons. The plan is to research each moon in turn and gaze/meditate on it as it happens, considering it’s meaning and how that fits into my life. It’ll be a personal journey, of sorts.

Saturday was the Wolf Moon/Old Moon: Amid the cold and deep snows of midwinter, the wolf packs howled hungrily outside Indian villages. Thus, the name for January’s full Moon. Sometimes it was also referred to as the Old Moon, or the Moon After Yule. I hope you happened to take a gander at it (you couldn’t miss it, even with the clouds). It was brilliant. Resplendent, even.

I’m still working on the quilt, so no pics yet, but I’m pleased with how its turning out. Plus, oh my goodness, would someone please explain to me why I was so nervous to try Free-motion quilting on my new machine? It is a dreeeeeeeeeeeam.

More when the quilt is done. For now, it is time to check in with the Wii fit.
