What is 100 Quilts for Kids?
100 Quilts for Kids is an annual charity quilt drive to encourage quilters to make a quilt, donate it to a child in need, and be entered for fabulous prizes for their efforts. In 2016, 100 Quilts for Kids will run from September 1st-December 1st.
How can I Participate?
Donations: Donations can be made to any local charity of your choice to benefit children, or they can be mailed to me. All donations that come to me directly or through the DCMQG this year will go to the Children’s Inn at NIH. If you need my address for mailing a quilt, please send me an e-mail – I will not be posting my address he
Linky Party: I will set up a Linky Party so you can link up pictures of donations. In order to be considered for prizes, please only post quilts that you have made and donated THIS YEAR. Check back often for details on the Linky Party, or…
- The Link Up is now live HERE!
Social Media: Primarily, I will utilize Instagram and this blog to make announcements about our charitable activities! You can follow me there at @alysonwonderlan. Please also utilize Instagram to spread the word! Use #100quilts4kids to tag your photos. You can follow this blog for updates, too! Major announcements will also be posted to the DCMQG Blog.
About the Children’s Inn at NIH
The Children’s Inn will fully and consistently meet the needs of children and families participating in groundbreaking research at the National Institutes of Health. They seek to respond to evolving family support needs for pediatric research and clinical care, provide a free, family-centered “place like home”, and reduce the burden of illness through therapeutic, educational, and recreational programming. Typically, they have between 50-100 families staying at the Inn at any one time.
We have quite a few wonderful sponsors this year. Please thank them by visiting their websites, buying their products and following them on social media! If you use their products in any of your projects for 100 Quilts for Kids, make sure and let them know – tag them on our social media channels, send them an e-mail, etc.
